a smart Category Manager Smart & Connected

 

As Category Manager Smart & Connected you are - together with the Product Manager - responsible for one of the most popular and internationally fastest-growing product groups within Nedis: the smart products of Nedis® SmartLife.

Within this category, we already have a wide range of products including smart plugs, smart lighting, IP cameras, doorbells, and smart air conditioners, but we need you to help us further develop and shape this range.

Not only will you monitor and maintain the current products, you also give direction to and further expand the Smart Home product group. In all your decisions, you have to take into account market positioning, price policy, product choices, new technologies, and commercial wishes from the market. You will be supported by and give direction to the experienced Product Manager Smart & Connected with whom you will collaborate intensively.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

 

New Product Introductions (NPI)

 

• Market research: competition, technical developments, and supply chain both online and by visiting trade fairs;
• Set up strategy and roadmap together with the Product Manager;
• Monitoring and maintaining the product range: positioning, pricing, new introductions, and phasing out.

   

Close cooperation with many internal and external parties

 

• Product Manager: together you form the Smart Home team where you, as a Category Manager, will be both managing and executive;
• Purchasing: giving order advice based on stock, upcoming promotions, and feedback/forecast sales;
• Sales (international): working together on the selection and composition of products;
• DTP and Marketing: commission and manage packaging, manuals, labels, and all online information;
• Sourcing (Asia): giving instructions and direction for finding and selecting the right products;
• Sales Support: support in answering customer questions, possibly with help from the supplier;
• Quality/Compliance: support and guidance for compliance challenges and liaising with supplier;
• Suppliers: both direct and indirect contact to tune products and negotiate prices, among other things;
• Customers: both direct and indirect advice and presentation of the product range at both commercial and technical level.

 

Skills, experience, and personal characteristics:

 

• HBO work and thinking level with preference in a commercial direction;
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar position;
• Experience with Chinese suppliers/partners;
• Experience with Tuya Smart Home products is preferred;
• Socially adept and constructive in communication, with respect for other cultures;
• Excellent written and spoken command of the Dutch and English languages;
• Knowledge of Retail and E-Tail;
• You like to take the lead, are proactive, and flexible;
• Stress resistant and accurate;
• Commercial and result driven;
• Analytical and numerical skills;
• Critical but thinking in solutions;
• No 9-to-5 mentality;
• Good command of Excel and PowerBI.
